Why I'm running
Having lived in Cottage Grove for over 20 years, with my husband being a lifelong resident, I have a deep appreciation for our community's values and aspirations. My previous service on the Village Board, as Chair of the Deer Grove EMS Commission, and as Director of the Cottage Grove Chamber of Commerce has given me valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities we face.
I am running for the Cottage Grove Village Board because the health and safety of our residents is my top priority. Strengthening our emergency services—Fire, EMS, and Police—is essential to ensuring they have the resources and staffing necessary to protect our community, especially in the face of recent tragic events.
In addition, I believe in taking a comprehensive approach to leadership that balances smart, sustainable growth with preserving a high quality of life and maintaining low taxes for our residents. The dream of homeownership has become increasingly out of reach for many, as rising property taxes and housing costs place an overwhelming financial burden on individuals and families.
Cottage Grove's future is about more than any single issue—it's about creating a community where families, businesses, and individuals can thrive. I am committed to thoughtful decision-making that considers the long-term well-being of our village, ensuring that we remain a safe, vibrant, and welcoming place for generations to come.
My servant leadership style, strong commitment to ethics, and focus on transparency will guide me in fostering more community engagement and open dialogue to ensure all voices are heard as we shape the future of Cottage Grove together.
